In your first appointment you will learn five simple techniques that you can use right now that will help you start to manage stress and overwhelming thoughts and emotion.

Do you wish to live your life without memories of the past holding you back?

In the following appointments you can start working on any past memories or stuck recurring issues with EMDR (eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing). An hour a week for ten sessions gives you a great opportunity to experience lasting change. When there are significant childhood trauma experiences to process, this may take five or so additional appointments, depending on the level of change you wish to achieve.

No wordy analysis needed. Gone are the days of months (or years!) of therapy. EMDR has over 80 research studies conducted in the UK – and more across the world – which show that it is more effective for processing blocked emotion than purely talking therapies.

Why do I offer this?

I have over 20 years’ experience in delivering therapy; 15 years in the NHS mental health services and for the last 5 years in private occupational health.   Appointments are offered online – no need to travel – so you can access therapy either at work or at home.   

I provide an empathic, compassionate space where you experience a meaningful and genuine therapy that is completely confidential.   With the EMDR technique you can work through any past memories or issues that you feel are holding you back from living the life you love.

Why did I train in therapy and EMDR?

Before I qualified as a therapist (initially psychotherapy specialising in non-verbal /symbolic expression) I had been through three years of therapy and although it was helpful for self-awareness, I was still experiencing low self-esteem, significant self-criticism, financial problems, I was caught in a dysfunctional relationship, and hiding this from everyone, pretending I wasn’t actually depressed, anxious and experiencing trauma symptoms.

It was only when I started to search out stabilising techniques, practice these every day, and then also attend EMDR sessions to address past experiences, that I finally made lasting change to how I felt, thought and responded to life. (And it was significantly more cost-effective…)
